“Off White / Kırık Beyaz”, @pilotgaleri @artshowgalerilerbulusmasi
The first photograph of the series “Off White” by Zeren Göktan, which meets the audience for the first time at the Art Show, opens up a discussion by emphasizing some identities that question the power, struggle, rebellion, and above all, the bodily existence and gender roles of women. In traditional societies, the dominant role of women and the ‘sacred’ motherhood defined as the feminine duty, where the body is solely assigned to feeding the baby – stripped of all other functions – and the parts that can be freely discussed are seen ‘inverted’ behind two bottles in this photograph.
